Silk and modal are an ideal combination. Both of them are highly absorbent yet smooth, both can be dyed with attractive colors. Modal is knitted fabric which is a type of rayon. Modal is composed of the cellulose from beech trees. As compared to cotton, modal is 50 % more water absorbent. Modal has quite reduced chances of fading or of forming pills due to friction. Modal remains soft in spite of repeated washing as there are fewer chances of deposits of hard water to the surface. Modal can be draped well and can be kept in shape, even when wet.
